REMEDIAL MASSAGE THERAPY

What is a Remedial Massage Therapist?

Remedial Massage Therapy is a complementary therapy which aims to locate and treat muscles that are tense, knotted, damaged or immobile. Remedial Massage Therapists can work with clients across the lifespan from sporting injuries, to everyday stiffness/soreness.

How can a Remedial Massage Therapist help?

Remedial massage aims to locate damaged areas of the body and speed up the body's own healing process through applying strong or gentle pressure, depending on the nature of the injury. Problems with the muscles can trigger or radiate pain to other parts of the body. Remedial massage aims to trace the original reason for the pain, tackling both the symptoms, as well as the cause of the problem.

Remedial massage also stimulates the blood supply, making joints and muscles more mobile, to help repair damaged tissues. Easing and stabilising the muscles can improve issues such as headaches, stiffness, postural misalignment, back, neck and abdominal pain, and sciatic pain.
